Membership

We would love for you to join us!

Any woman 18 and older who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot ancestor who aided in the cause of American Independence is eligible for membership.

The DAR has much for you to discover, from its beautiful historic headquarters in Washington, D.C., to its extensive museum collections and period rooms, to its genealogical research database system.

On the state and chapter levels, with its three-part focus on historic preservation, education, and patriotism, the DAR is all about service. There are innumerable ways to get involved and give back to your community. Our mission page shows just a few of the many ways the Rhode Island Daughters have worked to support our communities.

To learn more about membership, begin with the DAR general information page. Or, start by checking your eligibility.

If you prefer, you can simply email us in the Rhode Island State Society, or fill in the membership interest form. We will get in touch with you!

If you are interested in getting your children or grandchildren involved in patriotic service, please visit the Rhode Island State Society Children of the American Revolution for information about membership.
